This ONE Thing I Do...
How many of you do just ONE thing and ONE thing only? If you live the glorious U.S. of A, then more than likely your response will be in the negative. Today we are workaholics, multi-taskers, techno connected and on at all times. For the very few reading this blog who does not fit this category, kudos to you! Many of us strive to that level of focus balanced.
I was reading a passage from the greatest published work of all times: The Holy Bible. One of the leading characters in the book of Philippians is Paul, a man who had a life altering experience along life's journye. Paul was a transformed man from what he use to be. But aren't all of us in some way a Paul; moving to greater knowledge and understanding operating in that new knowledge. Transformation does not change the core you, but it merely changes our focus and clarity of purpose.
Paul was an excellent writer. His written works are still read through out the world today. He is one of the most quoted writers of his and of our time today. He was a builder, often leading teams to erect temples, and elaborate houses of worship. He was definitely a teacher and well known for his ability to inspire and encourage. Paul was a quintessential leader. But of the many talents and gifts that Paul had, he was always clear of his utmost purpose. He stated that by saying "THIS ONE THING I DO". Those four words certainly gave me cause to pause and reason to dig deeper. How could it be that with all of his life' activities, responsibilities, and engagements that he focused on THIS ONE THING? Well, it turns out that Paul was clear of his life calling, his purpose. He knew that his purpose was to lead souls to Christ. And he did not let anything or anyone get in the way of him fulfilling his purpose. Even when he was truly off course, he gave it his all! Once his mind and heart were illuminated with Godly guidance, he worked diligently towards THIS ONE THING!
What is your ONE THING that requires your commitment focus and dedication. Let Paul be our example in being SINGLEMINDED, ON PURPOSE. Now that's DA Art of Living.
