Your Passion, Your Purpose

Your Passion, Your Purpose Children have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From caring for my younger sisters, to my first paid job as a babysitter, and baking with my neighbors daughter, I seemed to have been surrounded by children all my life. The thing that fascinates me most about children is that they are bright beyond measure! We just have to push them to their abilities. And the fact that they teach me much more than they ever know, is beyond understanding. They are out of the box thinkers and the world is full of wonder to them. I feel even more alive around them and just embrace it all! So you can imagine how crushing it is to learn when some one wants to verbally, mentally or physically crush their spirits, and their little minds under development. Often times it comes from their peers and even their parents. Over five million children a year are bullied in the United States. Fueled by this disturbing news, that came close to home, Hope and I set out to serve as advocates for these little ones. We turned our passion of working with and encouraging young people to be at their best, into our purpose. This purpose allows us to speak to and educate children of their power, their purpose and their potential. Armed with new found information, these youngsters blosoomed in discussion and appeared secure to move forward confidently towards their dreams. Some of those dreams and aspirations were Designers, Teachers, Financiers, Stylists, Athletes, Anchors and more. Whatever their dreams, whatever their goals, we support them in being their best. Sometimes it takes more than one adult to let them know that they are worth protecting as well as their dreams. Now that's DA Art of Living! May 2012 (c) Simply Lady Dana
