The Mother Lode
Children have made more deposits intp my life, than I could ever imagine me making into theirs. They have deposited one of a kind stories into my mind; displayed appetites that take risks of blending oddities; poised questions that they only can get away with asking and receive a response; coupled with their curiosities that allows me to unabashedly be a child again, along with them, in their wonderful world of discoveries.
Some of the one liners that I share with you below, have been the inspiration for my devotional "Seasons of Life" to be released this year.
I DO TOO DRINK BEER (3 y.o)
I WANT SOME YOUR JUNGGO (3 y.o)
ITS RAINING ON THE EARTH MOMMY (3 y.o)
ARE THERE DEMONS IN THE CHURCH (4 y.o)
I AM NOT AN ELEPHANT (5 y.o)
ARE YOU EIGHTY? (5 y.o)
MOMMY, IVE GOT SOME GOOD NEWS AND SOME BAD NEWS (6 y.o)
I WILL BUY YOU A CAR AUNTIE (8 y.o.)
And the list could go on. The greatest joy comes when they call you tenderly by name, even if the motive is to have their way, and then tell you "I LOVE YOU" Children are truly the gifted Mother Lode! They share something more precious than gold: they share themselves freely, uninhibited, honestly and full of wonder. Now that's DA Art of Living!
