Don't Change Seats...

"Don't Change Seats" Arriving at my departing gate in Salt Lake City, Utah, I learned that my seat number was 33F. As I made my way onto the plane and to the back of the plane, I learned that 33 was the last row, next to the aromatic lavatories. I smiled at our two flight attendants in the rear of the plane and let them know that I would be open to a seat change anywhere far from the lavatory. Even a middle seat seemed more inviting at the moment. Even still I nestled myself in my seat and buckled up. Moments went by and I decided to keep my window seat. And OH AM I GLAD THAT I DID! The trip only got more interesting and delightfully fun along the way. A young, bouncy, beautiful teen-aage girl and her dad then took their seats in my row. We shared in some warm exchanges, only to hear a Bostonian accent comginf from her dad's driection. I really did my best not to say PARRK the CARR in my attempts of a Bostonian sound alike. But I was ever so happy that he, Rodger, her dad did it instead. I knew that I was in for some good travel buddies. We chatted a bit more and then I learned they were traveling from Los Angeles back to Atlanta, after having recorded pop music in L.A. My precious seat buddy asked this music loving soul of mine if I knew of any of the artist in which she had recorded. She mentioned names like Andre 300; Q Parker; Big Boy; Big Time Rush, to name a few. Really, I racked my brains and dusted off the cob webs hoping that I had heard of at least one of them. Then I recalled that Hope had mention driving Andre 3000, but his music I didn't know. With only ONE movie selection for the flight four hour flight that turned to five (don't ask!), that required strong glasses just to see the screen, you can imagine how happy I was when Gabbie's father offered to show me some of her videos. WOW!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!SMOOTHNESS!!!!!!!Those are just a few of the adjectives that describe this beautiful artist gift. She had just turned 14 the day prior. And you know I believe in a good party, and party we did for the remaining of the flight. I asked her what she liked to do in her spare time, and her response was most touching. She raises awareness for ANTI BULLYING Campaigns and her foundation. This resonated with me, as one of my nieces was bullied and Hope and I did an ANTI BULLYING campaign at her school, where we learned that more kids that I can count, were bullied. So we take this journey together, raising awareness and with Gabbie Rae singing and shedding light. The only way that I can share a portion of this rich experience, that was rift with a man getting locked in the bathroom, her dad and I doing the wave, and more than this blog can hold, is with you is through this blog. But you can do more. You can join us, along with Gabbie Rae raising awareness that we won't tolerate bullying of any form. Support her foundation, and by all means, if she is ever near a city near you, GO! But by all means, if she is ever in a seat next to you on a plan, DON"T CHANGE SEATS! Now that's DA ART OF LIVING! Cut and paste each POWER LIFTING link below separately and be inspired to continue to climb higher and do greater. Thanks Gabbie Rae & Rodger! You guys rock!
