March Gladness

"March Gladness"

In the U.S. March is often associated with a series of NCAA college basketball greats going at it, competing for the National Championship trophy. However, for me Spring has always been synonomous with newness, because it represents new birth and change, of which is a welcome from my Winter of sameness.

As we turned the corner of Winter, on March 20th, making way for Spring's grand entrance at 70-80 degree temperatures, more outdoor walkers appeared with strollers, dogs, and loved ones hand-in-hand, my soul smiled. We found ourselves walking the board walk at the Statue of Liberty and making wishes; visiting the shops of Hoboken; and waiting in line for some delectable culinary work of art at Carlos' Bakery also known as "The Cake Boss".

There's nothing that says Spring like the yellow dust of pollen that covers the vehicles in Georgia. Even with that heavy dusting, it is an exclamation point to this wonderful season. The carpenter bees are buzzing, the wind blows gently, and at times stirs, lifting the leaves of last season’s Fall. Wasps and other crawly creatures find their way into the home, seek refuge, or just to echo in a Paul Revere cry, what we already know "Spring is here, Spring is here!"

The softness and beauty of my favorite creature, the butterfly is a reminder of God's presence and promise of HOPE, as we trust.

All of this goodness choreographed to the tune of birds singing a high-pitched, song of gladness.

Now that's DA Art of Living!
