Zone 10

ZONE 10

For many years my career has kept me in the friendly skies. Flying is like breathing for me. With the high frequency of travel, there's a library of stories, miracles and some disappointments. But then there are the perks of shorter wait times through security lines; first to board the plane in Zone 1; automatic upgrades to first class; fee-free luggage; beverages of choice served in glassware (mine are non-alcoholic); and a host of other amenities.

So it came as a great surprise and rude awakening to me, that after a long period of infrequent flying,  I learned that I no longer held any premiere status: And I learned this the hard way.  I could no longer access the shorter security lines.  As a matter of fact, the rate of palm swabbing for explosives increased, as well wand scanning.  Somehow I felt more violated and isolated than ever before. And the cherry on top was the Zone 10 boarding. Who knew there were more than 3 boarding zones? Well, I soon learned that there were more boarding zones than should be allowed. And get this, my seat assignment had shifted too. No longer was I automatically placed on upgrade list for First Class. Rather, I was now in seat 43, of the last row, middle seat.  What had I done to garner such cruel treatment. If this is what sub-coach life was like, I wanted my premiere status back. But I believe that humility is the best leveling ground.

I have learned that whatever state or seat that I am in, to be content. We are always where we are suppose to be when we surrender to just being. And once I accepted that notion, my life improved exponentially.  Better to be humble than to be humbled. Now that's DA Art of Living.

I believe I can FLY!!! Click on the link below and Njoy!
